Overview:

• The OtterBox Commuter Series case for the Galaxy S4 features a three-layered protection. First, there is a silicone wrap that is flexible like rubber and over it you have to put a poly-carbonate hard shell. Fitted together, they make a very reliable shield for the Galaxy S4 with everything covered up properly and without interfering with any of the sensors, buttons and USB ports. It has cutouts for all ports, buttons, microphone, speakers and camera.

• What I like most about this case is its masculine feel. It feels solid, changes the look of the phone altogether and makes you confident that you device is safe against accidental drops, rubs, dust and debris. The heaved edges on all sides save the screen of the device even if you put it with the display facing the floor. The silicone layer at each corner works like a shock absorbed. Though I did not test it personally but my little kid seemed very much willing to do so by dropping the device a couple of times and throwing it once so far!
• Another thing that I did not expect was a screen protector. In fact, I did not see it in the product preview. The case is easy to install and uninstall. The OtterBox Commuter Series case may not be the best looking case for the Galaxy S4, but it is certainly one of the most reliable one. Though the case makes the device a little thicker, it still slips neatly into the pocket.
